This website is run by AKM Shipping and Storage LLC, which trades as AKM Shipping with its Saudi company, AKM Shipping Company (“AKM”, “we”, “us”). AKM Shipping is a freight forwarding and logistics company with offices in Dubai, Riyadh and Jeddah. AKM Shipping and Storage LLC is responsible for the personal data described here.

What we collect
- Enquiry and contact forms. Your name and email address, and anything else you choose to give: company, phone number, shipment details (such as origin, destination, commodity, weight, volume and dates) and your message.
- Industry Update sign-up. Your name, email address, company if you give it, and your consent to receive the update.
- Shipment tracking. The job, bill of lading or container reference you type in, used only to look up that shipment.
- Analytics, only if you accept cookies. Pages visited, documents downloaded (such as our company profile), how you arrived, approximate location, and device and browser type, collected by Google Analytics.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting and font providers receive your IP address and browser details when pages load.
Please do not send sensitive personal data (such as health or financial information) through the forms.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and handle your shipment. This is needed to take steps you ask for before entering a contract with us, and is in our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- To send the monthly AKM Industry Update, based on your consent. Every issue lets you unsubscribe, and you can also email marketing@akmshipping.com at any time.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it, through Google Analytics, based on your consent to cookies.
- To keep the site and forms secure and free of spam, in our legitimate interest.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
Who processes it for us
- Fr8Labs operates the website’s forms and shipment tracking for AKM. It stores each form submission and delivers it to AKM by email.
- Render hosts the website.
- Google provides the website fonts and, only if you accept cookies, Google Analytics.
These providers act on our instructions. Some of them process data outside the UAE and Saudi Arabia; where they do, we rely on the safeguards that the applicable data protection law requires. We may also share data with carriers, customs authorities and partners where that is needed to handle a shipment you have asked us to move, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and messages that do not lead to business with us are deleted 24 months after we receive them.
- Quotations, shipment records and accounting records, including the enquiry and correspondence behind them, are kept for 5 years, or longer where UAE or Saudi commercial and tax law requires, and then deleted.
- Your Industry Update subscription is kept until you unsubscribe, and your details are then removed from the mailing list.
- Google Analytics data about your visits is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law, or the EU and UK GDPR give you rights over your data. These include the right to access it, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy of it, and withdraw your consent at any time without affecting what was done before. Cookies
This site sets no cookies unless you accept them. The forms, shipment tracking and pages all work without cookies.
